I am a woman who believes in the word of God and takes God up on his word. I received Christ in 2007 when I was running away from the embedded spiritual culture that I did not like at home and saw that the only way out was to be born again.
As I went through the bible and as I was mentored then, I found some interesting facts in the bible and some high-level ways of living as a person of the spirit. After being born again I read the bible through to try to understand what being a child of God entails and was molded by every word of scripture.
I grew up in a church where women were supposed to be silent in the church and were not allowed to do anything in the church. In my engagement with the word, I found few women who made huge impacts and contributions to the nations of God, and I am referring to Esther, who defied the regulations of the land by going to the king when she was not called, saving the nation of God and changing the decrees that were issued against her people.
Prophetess Deborah, who led the armies of God, Abigail, acted contrary to the decision of her foolish husband to save the family from the wreath of King David. I also saw in the New Testament that there were women who ministered to Jesus. I felt like these are my sisters and I am supposed to take their example and minister to Jesus in a way that is unique and amazing.
These are the truths that most women don’t know and are still stuck in the “keeping silent” in the church motion instilled by law churches. They did not see that this was referring to the then law and our new covenant says we are no longer under the law. I developed a passion for learning more truths that the children of God are ignorant of which in reality is hidden from those who are relaxed in the walk with God.
My Passion:
Women arising: I seek to see women take up their position in society, not that they should be above their husbands or uncontrollable, but just like Proverbs 31:10-31 describes an industrious woman who supports her husband and her children to be better people in society while running her businesses and ministries. We praise the Lord for the book of Galatians 3:27-29 indicates that as many as are baptized into Christ have put on Christ, it further indicates that there is neither Jew nor Greek, bond or free, male nor female. Verse 29 concludes that if we are in Christ then we are heirs according to the promise. It does not say males only.
Successful marriages: I also have seen lots of marriages that are suffering due to a lack of role understanding in respect in marriages. Women want to do what men must do and men want to relegate their responsibilities to women and that causes a lot of marriage confusion. We need a teaching that will teach modern women to submit to their husbands as the church is unto Christ. We need to learn that thin line of separation to know that though we are strong, in our roles as wives we must be humble. This calls for great wisdom from women, to understand that you are stronger than your husbands yet by God’s ordination we are weaker vessels and must be submissive to our husbands.
The Power of God:
Luke 10:19
“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
The first time I read this verse with understanding I could not move away from it. I kept on reading it wondering and asking myself if we as a church really understand the meaning of this verse.
I started developing the hunger to seek the Lord in this verse, to enquire if I can trample on scorpions and snakes, which I know is referring to Satan and his demons, and because I trust the word of God, I accepted that it is possible. Looking at the church today, most people are just happy to go to church, sing, pray a little bit listen to the minister, and then go home without really being energized by what was taught.
In 2018 I found myself looking for a church that could discharge the verse the way I understood and couldn’t find any. I try to listen to the ministers who attempt to minister about the power of God, and they are not discharging this verse to the core, or the church is not yet operating in this dimension.
In the middle of my predicament, I found another verse that says,
“I love them that love me, and those that seek me early will find me.”.
It is found in Proverbs 8:17. I then started waking up early to pray and hear from the Lord and give him time to minister to me and to reveal his will for my life because I realized there is more to just being a child of God. We are appointed kings and priests of our God. That calls for men and women who will take up position and start to rule the earth as is the original mandate in the Garden of Eden.
In my journey with God, I learned that it takes hard work to reach certain levels in the spirit. It takes great perseverance and persistence to grow even just an inch. Operating with the power of God needs a person who has overcome the world and is no longer moved by the affairs of this world. A person with the “Paul” attitude who will follow the Lord’s word as is. A person with the Esther attitude that says, “If I perish, I perish”.
In my path with the Lord, I desire to be among believers who take the word of God seriously and desire to operate in the power of God, so that we can demonstrate this power to non-believers or those who have just joined the family of God.
